Today, corporate executives and celebrities have become targets for being killed or kidnapped in a violent world. It is therefore imperative that a proactive protection plan be developed.
Protection begins with a threat analysis to determine the profile of the executive or celebrity and their family. This security risk assessment will identify vulnerabilities and a plan to mitigate those identified threats.
The persons being protected should be initially interviewed to determine what they expect from their security team and what protocols and procedures will be implemented. It is deemed client buy-in.
A security assessment should be conducted on their residence as well as their office, and an emergency response plan prepared in the event of an intrusion or natural disaster such as a fire or earthquake. Any physical infirmities should be identified and a hospital survey conducted to identify trauma facilities.
All recurring vendors and employees that work on the residence or grounds should have a background check to ensure no prior physical assaults or serious criminal acts occurred in the past.
If there are children involved, DNA samples should be taken from all family members in the event of a kidnapping. All family members should be trained in survival techniques in the event they are kidnapped.
If the protective and family are set to travel, a full risk assessment should be developed to identify threats at the destination.
Professional protection agents should be trained in conducting threat evaluations, as well as close protection protocols.
